We believe that Black Lives Matter. In this episode Colleen & Jamie share what we’ve been sitting with this month while watching events in the country and the planner community have evolved. We share our perspectives, experiences, and ask some timely questions we hope you can reflect on as we continue with the discussions as the community and country continue to evolve.
Editorial Note: The last 5 Minutes of this conversation we had an issue with Colleen’s audio. She brings out an important point and that is, this discussion is NOT a political discussion or about “planner drama” this is a human rights discussion.
A few questions about the planner community you can ponder:
What kind of a community do we want from here?
What kind of makers do we want to see in swag bags and from stage?
If money is power and our money is powerful who do we want to give that money to by spending our dollars?
What were these brands doing prior to May 25th?
A few questions you can ask yourself if you are struggling with these topics:
Why didn’t you ask these questions, research these topics, or gain these perspectives before May 25th?
How does your life / community / world change with this newly found education?
What do you see that needs to change in your family now that you’ve gained perspective?
Colleen and Jamie (we) will continue to elevate the voices of BIPOC in the planner community. The mission of this podcast is to showcase people using planners creatively.
